2020 Global Privacy Policy and Collection Statement

2020 Global (including its related entities) respects your privacy and your privacy is important to us.  This statement sets out 2020 Global’s privacy policy and the practices that will be followed in order to respect the privacy of individuals who deal with 2020 Global.  This statement is provided in accordance with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Cth) and the National Privacy Principles which are set out in that Act.  2020 Global is not, however, bound by the Privacy Act.

This Privacy Policy and Collection Statement (together referred to as the "Privacy Policy") has been created in order to demonstrate 2020 Global's firm commitment to privacy.  

The Privacy Policy will be updated as required.  If it is changed, the changes will be posted on 2020 Global's website so that you are always aware of the sort of information collected, how the information may be used and under what circumstances it may be disclosed by 2020 Global.

Please note that if at any time 2020 Global is required by law to release information about you or your organisation, 2020 Global must cooperate fully.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to acts or practices of 2020 Global that are directly related to employee records of current or former employees.  

 

WHAT SORT OF INFORMATION DOES 2020 GLOBAL COLLECT?

The type of information collected by 2020 Global regarding individuals may include the following:

bulletAddresses (including e-mail addresses);
bulletTelephone and fax numbers;
bulletDate and place of birth;
bulletGender;
bulletOccupation;
bulletEducation;
bulletNext of Kin information, including the names of children;
bulletProfessional associations and memberships;
bulletFinancial information such as Tax File Numbers, bank account and investment details.

2020 Global collects information ("Information") about you from a number of sources, including:

bulletPersonal particulars supplied or requested when you engage 2020 Global so that 2020 Global may provide you with tax / audit / accounting or business consultancy services;
bulletThird parties to whom you have given your consent to supply information directly to 2020 Global (for example banks, insurance agents and stockbrokers);
bulletWhen you send 2020 Global an e-mail, we collect personal details such as name, title, email address, telephone and facsimile numbers.

Some information that 2020 Global holds may be "Sensitive Information".  Sensitive Information is information or an opinion about an individual's:

bulletRace or ethnic origin; or
bulletPolitical opinion; or
bulletMembership of a political association or religious beliefs, affiliations or philosophy; or
bulletMembership of a professional trade association or trade union; or
bulletSexual preferences or practices; or
bulletCriminal record; or
bulletHealth information.

2020 Global will only collect sensitive information with the individual's consent.

2020 Global will not collect personal information unless the information is necessary for the performance of one or more of its functions or activities.  2020 global will only collect personal information by lawful and fair means. Where practical, 2020 Global will collect personal information about an individual, from that individual.  Where personal information is collected from someone other than the individual, 2020 Global will take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is made aware of the information collected. 

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE INFORMATION REQUESTED?

If you do not provide information requested by 2020 Global, this may prevent 2020 Global from providing you with the most efficient and effective service that you are engaging 2020 Global to perform for you. 

 

WHY DOES 2020 GLOBAL COLLECT THE INFORMATION AND HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION USED BY 2020 GLOBAL?

2020 Global collects the Information to:

bulletProvide you with your requested service.  For example, 2020 Global may use the Information you have supplied to provide financial services to you (eg: complete your annual tax return).
bulletTo establish and maintain client accounts;
bulletProvide Financial Services to clients;
bulletTo administer contractors of 2020 Global;
bulletTo consider applications by potential employees for employment by 2020 Global.

 

2020 Global also uses the Information to send you information (either by e-mail or post) that you request. If at any time you receive material that you did not request or do not want to receive such material any more, see Correcting and Updating Your Profile below.

2020 Global may use Information for its own direct marketing purposes only where:

bulletThe individual has not made a request not to receive direct marketing communication. In each such communication, the individual will be given the opportunity express their wish not to receive any further direct marketing communications
bulletEach written direct marketing communication sets out 2020 Global's business address and telephone number and, if the communication is made by facsimile or email, a number or address at which 2020 Global can be directly contacted.

 

 

TO WHOM DOES 2020 GLOBAL DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION?

As a general rule, 2020 Global will not disclose personal information about an individual unless:

bulletConsent is obtained from that individual;
bullet2020 Global has reason to suspect that unlawful activity has been or may be undertaken and disclosure of that personal information is necessary as part of the investigation of the activity by 2020 Global or in reporting its concerns to relevant authorities;
bulletDisclosure is required or authorised by law;
bullet2020 Global reasonably believes that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary for a specified purpose by an enforcement agency.

2020 Global will not sell, rent, trade or otherwise supply to third parties any personal information obtained from you unless you consent.

2020 Global may from time to time share personal information (other than Sensitive Information) with its related bodies corporate for the purposes of providing services to you as a client.

2020 Global may from time to time use subcontractors which may require the disclosure of personal information to those sub contractors for the provision of services to you as a client of 2020 Global.  All sub contractors used by 2020 Global are subject to a signed Confidentiality Agreement specifically prohibiting them from disclosure of personal information obtained whilst contracting for 2020 Global.

 

HOW WILL 2020 GLOBAL KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE?

2020 Global will take reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information it collects uses or discloses is accurate, complete and up to date.

2020 Global has implemented security measures designed to protect against the loss, misuse from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure /alteration of the Information under its control.  These security measures include:

bulletPasswords and encryption;
bulletRestricted access to files;
bulletEmployee and contractor confidentiality agreements;
bulletSafe destruction of personal information no longer needed.

 

 

CORRECTING AND UPDATING YOUR PROFILE

2020 Global will, on request by an individual, provide them with access to their personal information.

2020 Global may, however, choose not to provide individuals with their personal information where:

bulletProviding access is prohibited by law;
bulletProviding access may prejudice an investigation of possible illegal or unlawful activities;
bulletProviding the information would have an adverse impact upon the privacy of other individuals;
bulletThe information relates to existing or potential legal proceedings and would be discoverable in those proceedings;
bulletThe request for information is frivolous or vexatious.

 

2020 Global gives you the following options for accessing and modifying Information previously provided:

You may gain access to Information that 2020 Global has collected about you, by contacting the 2020 Global Privacy Officer.  We will not charge you for responding to such a request, unless we incur costs in providing the information (such as verifying, locating, retrieving, copying any material requested).

You may update the information that 2020 Global has collected by emailing the Privacy Officer.

 

 

How you complain about Possible Breaches of your privacy?

Please forward any complaint regarding an alleged breach of your privacy by 2020 Global to The Privacy Office (contact details below).

The Privacy Officer will investigate and resolve the complaint internally through mediation with the individual.
